The original Sonoran Sunrise/Sunset material was found at the Milpillas Mine. located about 20 kilometers southeast of the town of Santa Cruz in the state of Sonora. Mexico. The Milpillas Mine is a recent discovery. The deposit is located in the Cuitaca Graben and was difficult to find because it was buried beneath between 100 and 500 meters of Tertiary and Quaternary gravels. It was not exposed at the surface and could only be inferred by geologic mapping and confirmed by exploratory drilling.

Navajo pearls are handmade sterling silver beads that date back to the 1500s when the Diné silversmiths first started working with the natural materials available to them.
